What is concierge psychiatry?
Concierge psychiatry is a model in which patients pay a recurring membership fee for enhanced access to their psychiatrist and for services that insurance does not cover. The word means different things at different practices, so it is worth being precise about what it means here.
At Prescribed Wellness, membership is private pay. Medication is one lever, and it is rarely the only one. Sleep, nutrition, and movement each move the same depression and anxiety scales that medication moves, and in clinical trials they add to treatment rather than replace it. Most psychiatric care never gets to them because there is no time. Membership makes the time.

What does Concierge Access include?
Concierge Access is built for fast, direct care. It is the tier for people whose main problem with psychiatry so far has been getting in the door and getting enough time once they are there.
Priority scheduling and same-week appointments. New concerns and medication questions get seen the same week, not next month.
Extended visits. Enough time to talk through what changed, not a fifteen-minute refill check.
Direct communication with Dr. Sanchez. Questions between visits go to her, not to a call center.
Private pay, with member pricing on every service. Members receive member rates on the services the practice offers.
What does Concierge Holistic Wellness add?
Concierge Holistic Wellness includes everything in Concierge Access, plus a whole-person plan built on the pillars laid out on our concierge psychiatry membership page. Under each one is what published research has found about that approach.
Personalized medication management
Dr. Sanchez leads your psychiatric care and medication management, with training in CBT-I for insomnia, mindfulness, and lifestyle approaches to mood. The rest of the plan is built around it. You can read more about Dr. Sanchez and the practice.
Precision nutrition
A personalized eating plan built on the diet patterns studied in depression trials.
4× the remission rate. In the SMILES trial, 32% of adults with major depression reached remission after 12 weeks on a Mediterranean-style diet with dietitian support, compared with 8% who received social support alone. (Jacka et al., BMC Medicine, 2017)
Guided exercise
A dedicated exercise coach who writes a program matched to your body, your schedule, and the evidence.
43% fewer poor-mental-health days. In a study of 1.2 million U.S. adults, people who exercised reported 43% fewer days of poor mental health each month than people who did not. Sessions of about 45 minutes, three to five times a week, showed the strongest link. (Chekroud et al., Lancet Psychiatry, 2018)
Sleep education
Structured education on how sleep works, what disrupts it, and what the research says actually helps, so you can build a routine that holds through long production weeks. This is education, not treatment for a sleep disorder. If you have insomnia, that is addressed in your psychiatric care.
65 randomized trials. A review of 65 trials found that when sleep improved, depression, anxiety, and rumination improved with it. (Scott et al., Sleep Medicine Reviews, 2021)
Dedicated coaching
A coach trained in psychology and mindfulness who works with you between visits on attention and stress skills, so the plan holds. This is coaching, not therapy, and it is provided by our wellness team rather than by the medical practice.
Coordination of care
One team communicating with your other physicians and providers, so nothing falls through the gaps.
2× the rate of meaningful improvement. In the IMPACT trial, 45% of older adults with depression who received coordinated, team-based care had their symptoms cut at least in half after 12 months, compared with 19% in usual care. (Unützer et al., JAMA, 2002)
These figures come from published research on each approach, not from results of our membership. Lifestyle approaches add to psychiatric treatment; they do not replace it.

What does the membership fee not buy?
This is the part most concierge pages leave out, and it is the part that matters.
It does not change your treatment. Members and non-members receive the same clinical judgment. Medication decisions are made the same way for everyone.
It is not therapy. Coaching and education teach skills. If you need psychotherapy, we will say so and help you find it.
It is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911. Membership does not replace emergency care.
It does not promise a better outcome. The wellness program can help you use your care well; it does not guarantee a result.
Who is concierge psychiatry for?
Concierge Access is for people who want fast, direct access to their psychiatrist: adults with demanding schedules, people who have waited weeks for a fifteen-minute visit, and anyone who wants to reach their doctor without going through a call center.
Concierge Holistic Wellness is for people who want more structure around the non-medical side of their mental health than a medication visit can provide. That tends to mean people managing a chronic condition where sleep, food, and stress keep pulling at the plan, and anyone who has noticed that the hard part is not the prescription but everything around it.
How does concierge membership work?
Membership starts with a 90-minute first visit with Dr. Sanchez, in person on Barham Blvd or by video anywhere in California. From there, you reach Dr. Sanchez directly between visits, so questions about your medication or your plan go to her.
On the Concierge Holistic Wellness tier, the plan also covers nutrition, exercise, sleep and coaching. This is holistic mental health care backed by science: each part is included because published research supports it, and each one adds to psychiatric care rather than replacing it.
Membership is private pay and is not available to Medicare or Medi-Cal beneficiaries. Medicare patients are welcome as standard in-network patients.
Can I see a private psychiatrist without joining the membership?
Yes. You do not need a membership to see a private psychiatrist at Prescribed Wellness. If you have no insurance, or would rather not use it, you can book with Dr. Sanchez at standard self-pay rates and receive a Good Faith Estimate of costs before your first visit.
If your plan is one we are out of network with, we provide a superbill after each visit. A superbill is an itemized receipt you submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement. How much comes back depends on your plan's out-of-network benefits, so call the number on your card and ask about outpatient psychiatry, out of network, before you book.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my insurance and still be a member?
The membership fee itself is never billed to insurance. Whether a given visit is billed to your plan or paid privately at member rates depends on your plan and the tier you choose. Call the office before your first visit and we will tell you exactly how it works for you.
Can I see a psychiatrist as a self-pay (cash-pay) patient?
Yes. If you do not have insurance, or prefer not to use it, you can see Dr. Sanchez at standard self-pay rates, whether or not you join the membership, and we provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Members pay member pricing on every service. Call the office and we will walk you through current rates before you book.
Is mindfulness coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching teaches practical skills for attention and stress, and works with you between visits so the plan holds. It does not diagnose or treat a mental health condition, and it is provided by our wellness team rather than by the medical practice. If you need psychotherapy, we will say so and help you find a therapist who fits.
What happens if I cancel the membership?
Your psychiatric care continues with the same doctor and the same clinical approach. Priority scheduling, extended visits, direct communication, member pricing, and the wellness program end. Nothing about your treatment plan depends on staying a member, and you can rejoin later if your needs change.
Is concierge psychiatry available by telehealth?
Yes. Dr. Sanchez sees patients in person on Barham Blvd or by telehealth anywhere in California, and coaching sessions can be done by video. You can combine in-person visits with video sessions on weeks when a shoot or a travel schedule makes the drive impractical.
Is the office close to Toluca Lake and Burbank?
Yes. The office is at 3800 Barham Blvd, Suite 416, Los Angeles, CA 90068, off the 101 on the Cahuenga Pass. It sits between Toluca Lake, Burbank, Studio City, Universal City, and the Hollywood Hills, a few minutes from Warner Bros. and Universal Studios.
