About Prescribed Wellness

Psychiatry That Starts With Understanding You

A physician-owned practice in Los Angeles led by Dr. Veronica Sanchez, a board-certified, UCLA-trained psychiatrist who sees adults in English and Spanish. Your first visit is a full 50 minutes, so we understand you before we talk about medication. For patients who want more time and faster access, we also offer a concierge psychiatry membership.

How we practice

Time to get it right

Long visits leave room for sleep, work, family, and side effects, not only refills.

One shared plan

With your permission, we coordinate with your therapist and other doctors.

Medication matched to your body

We monitor weight, cholesterol, and blood sugar,1 and use genetic testing as one input when it is likely to help.2

We measure and adjust

We track your symptoms at follow-ups and change the plan when it is time.

Why we practice this way

74% vs. 29%

reached remission from depression when care was guided by regular symptom ratings, compared with standard care, in one randomized trial.3

79 trials

in a Cochrane review found that coordinated, team-based care improves depression and anxiety for up to two years.4

We are in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Carelon, Cigna, Medicare, Optum and UnitedHealthcare, and provide superbills for other plans.

For UC and USC students

We see many students on UC SHIP and USC SHIP

Three out of four lifetime mental health conditions begin by age 24,5 which puts the college years right in the middle of it. Many of our patients are University of California and USC students on their school's health plan. Dr. Sanchez trained at UCLA, and she sees students in person on Barham or by telehealth from anywhere in California, so your care does not stop over breaks or when you move off campus.

UC SHIP

Administered by Anthem Blue Cross

Get a referral from your campus counseling or student health center first. At UCLA that is CAPS.

We are in network with Anthem Blue Cross.

UC SHIP member services: (866) 940-8306

USC SHIP

Provided through Aetna Student Health

During fall and spring semesters, get a referral from USC Student Health first.

Over official school breaks the referral is waived.

We are in network with Aetna.

Aetna Student Health: (877) 626-2299

Then request a time and mention your student plan. We reply within one business day and check your benefits with you before the first visit. Without a referral, a visit may not be covered, and coverage depends on your plan year and campus.
